England coach Southgate rates Kobbie Mainoo’s performance during 1-0 defeat to Brazil

England manager, Gareth Southgate was pleased with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo’s display during his side’s international friendly 1-0 defeat against Brazil on Saturday.
Southgate said the 18-year-old was composed with his movements and turns against Brazil.
Mainoo came off the bench 15 minutes from time as Endrick’s goal gave Brazil the win against the Three Lions at Wembley.

“Kobbie was a chance to dip his toes. We needed to refresh some of the team because we have got to manage their minutes a little bit, so that is a strange situation when it is a game of that size but that is where we are,” Southgate said at his post-match interview.
“To get Kobbie on the pitch was a brilliant moment for him and his family.
“You saw a couple of turns and a couple of really composed moments that is a bit of an indication of what he might become.”
